FG7 was formed in October 2000 to strengthen the buying power for a consortium of motor factors. As an independent factor group with many more members, we are proudly supported by over seventy industry leading suppliers and have evolved to meet the demands of a market which diversifies daily. The IFA is a leader among automotive trade groups in the UK and Ireland. Its Members – car and CV motor factor businesses – provide excellence in quality, availability and service in automotive parts for all makes of vehicles. Members are specialists in local distribution of car or commercial vehicle parts (or both!) as well as being suppliers of lubricants, exhausts, tyres, tools, diagnostics, garage equipment, vehicle accessories and a variety of automotive and garage consumables. With a national network of over 260 branches covering Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland, the IFA manages to combine national strength without sacrificing local excellence.

In 2005 the PDP Buying Group was formed by several likeminded Motor Factors who realised that by being part of a large National Buying Group they were losing the ability to shape their own future for the specific needs of their businesses. These Motor Factors concluded that by negotiating directly with suppliers, they would achieve advantageous commercial terms and a closer working relationship with those suppliers. Today the PDP works with exactly the same principals, working closely with our supply partners to achieve market leading commercial terms. The membership work closely together helping each other in the increasingly competitive market.

We are the UK’s largest independent aftermarket auto parts distribution group. Since it was first established in 2006, the group has grown to become the largest independent aftermarket parts group in the UK. Rapid has an excellent year on year track record of growth and profitability and the group currently consists of 9 members who achieve a combined turnover in excess of £280,000,000.

IAAF was formed in 1930. Today it represents the entire automotive aftermarket chain, comprising manufacturers, suppliers, warehouse distributors, buying groups, motor factors and independent garages. The IAAF’s main aim is to add value to its membership through networking, lobbying, training, and access to information, data and trends, key to successful running of an automotive aftermarket business.
